1. This Balm is the Bomb Balm

I feel like I’m probably dating myself just by saying that. I can still remember, clear as crystal, the time my Mother referred to something as “the bomb” in the 90s and my little brother and I promptly shriveled up and died of embarrassment right there and then on the living room carpet. But as a woman who is quite pregnant and well into her 40s, I don’t have time for embarrassment. Because friends, my time is devoted entirely to preserving my skin’s life force and defending against stretch marks. Which is where this bomb balm comes in.

It's my go-to for skin that needs over the top cosseting, nurturing care. Whether you're suffering with swollen patches of eczema or psoriasis, the sting of a sunburn, skin battered by cold weather or those times when the flat and dull fatigue of long hours, air travel and general demands of life is written all over your face, this protective balm has your best interest at heart.

2. When Books Become Friends

Do you ever read a book where you become so invested that you almost wonder about the character from time to time, as if they’re a real person? That’s how I felt when I read Wally Lamb’s She’s Come Undone many years ago.

Last week, a reading group that I belong to was sharing their top ten books of all time and naturally this gem came up on several of our lists, reminding me it was patiently waiting for a re-read. It’s beautiful, it’s engrossing and it’s real. If you’re looking to step out of your own head for a few hours, it’s well worth picking up a copy.

3. The Gnats of Summer

Have considerably less charm than the Boys of Summer. So, I concoct a quick blend to rid myself of the pesky flyers that works like a charm, uses all natural ingredients you probably have around the house and takes all of 60 seconds to make.
