Are you game? Let’s go!
1. Healthy Stress Eating
We’ve had two back to back, huge storms and lost power at home and NAHLA HQ for a total of eight of the last fourteen days. With all that snow, ice, wind and inconvenience, these dark chocolate covered goji berries were exactly the kind of healthy(ish) snack I needed to make it through days where entire trees came down on buildings, power lines were in the roads and expletives might have been directed at uncooperative generators. It doesn’t hurt that they’re a powerhouse of nutrition. Packed with all eight essential amino acids, they’re also youth protective, anti-oxidant rich, blood sugar stabilizing and boost the immune system.
2. This Product Slays In Cold Weather
Going from the warmth and magic of Mexico to the madness of Spring in New England is tough on your skin. Calendula Sensitive Healing Cream was the first product I ever sold at NAHLA, launching over 23 years ago now and it’s still just as reliable for dry, flaky, wind-chapped or sensitive skin.
3. One Sweet Saturday
In between storms, we headed up to my favorite place on this earth for brunch, bread and a bit of gallivanting. It started with this view - OMG, Maine, you’re amazing!
There was brunch which consisted of a perfect cappuccino…
and this little slice of heaven.
And an embarrassingly large bread preorder to fill our chest freezer that we literally own because this bakery exists. 19 loaves and no, I’m not joking. If you ever make it to Maine, you must visit the wonderful folks at Tinder Hearth. With the first bite, I guarantee you’ll shake your head knowingly and fill your arms lovingly, maternally, with bread to take home to freeze.
Shoutout to my son Litton for indulging Mama’s need for a picture of one of these massive sourdough loaves in a photogenic spot.
