Maybe you were expecting something more, I don't know, Spring-like? But here in Maine, it's been knee-deep snow, no power or internet, trees and power lines in the streets and a general sense of icy misery. Yikes!

As a result, our April Beauty Edit is a little late this month. But hey, we finally got the power back on and with it, light - literally and figuratively. So, let's shake the snowflakes out of our hair and dig in to this month's Beauty Edit.

LET'S GET STEAMY & GLAZED DONUTY

The weather has vacillated between sunshine-filled days and blizzard conditions here in Maine. My survival routine: smooth a blueberry-sized dollop of Rosehip Regenerating Cleanser into your skin. Then, steam (this is the model I have because doesn't make a mess and delivers the ethereal steam your skin craves. When the cycle completes, massage skin gently and apply a layer of Bio Renewal Corrective Masque. It infuses the skin with the freshest vitamin C available, saturating cells with youth harnessing antioxidants. Let it set, rinse, apply toner and your favorite moisture serum. I promise, your skin will be as smooth, hydrated and supple as a glazed donut.

THAT MIRACLE GLOW

Rarely do we see such dramatic results but this one took our breath away. In clinical trials, 82% of testers agreed that within three days, their skin was smoother and plumper. And after six weeks of daily use, 91% reported that their skin was brighter, smoother, more even and showed a noticeable reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

With a harmonizing, breathable finish, rapid absorption and exceptional layer-ability, this gel serum boosts regeneration, strengthens the protective barrier and neutralizes skin-damaging stressors like environmental pollutants and blue light.

++ And it's your free gift through midnight tonight with orders $1000 in the final day of our Annual Spring Sale.

SPEAKING OF...

Today is the final day of our Annual Spring Sale. In a big shift of priorities, we'll be offering just two store-wide sales a year: our Spring Sale, which is happening now and our Annual Holiday Sale in November. We have great discounts, gifts with purchase and a bonus gift on top of the other discounts and gifts if you want to go big. We really do love pampering our customers but it's a delicate balance between astronomical price hikes on materials (thanks inflation and corporate greed) and maintaining consistent pricing for you, that have us doing our darnedest  to keep things consistent. We hope everyone finds something they love. Sale ends at midnight tonight.

TINY BABIES

During a very difficult week here in Maine, when there wasn't much to laugh about because: NEVER ENDING WINTER, my sweet husband sent me a link to this amazon review of these tiny babies.

And people, I laughed until I cried as I this and (literally thousands) of reviews of these Plastic Party Babies.

DARK CHOCOLATE GOJI BERRIES

We’ve had two back to back, huge storms and lost power at home and NAHLA HQ for a total of eight of the last fourteen days. With all that snow, ice, wind and inconvenience, these dark chocolate covered goji berries were exactly the kind of healthy(ish) snack I needed to make it through days where entire trees came down on buildings, power lines were in the roads and expletives might have been directed at uncooperative generators. They’re a powerhouse of nutrition, packed with all eight essential amino acids, youth protective, anti-oxidant rich, blood sugar stabilizing and boost the immune system.

A NEW ELIXIR FOR SPRING

I took a bottle of this with me to Mexico and everywhere I went, I got so many compliments. "You smell so good" or “What perfume are you wearing?" I even had a TSA Agent in Dallas tell me she'd never smelled anything more beautiful in her security line so I got that dear woman's address and sent her a bottle for free. Trust, dear ones - this liquid gold is the good stuff and you don't want to miss it.

THE APRIL READING LIST

I'm reading three wonderful books this month: 1. Why We Sleep: Unlocking The Power Of Sleep And Dreams. 2. An exploration of what the sea means to us. Deeply moving, it would be a great gift for someone who has experienced a recent loss or looking for a way to cope with change and transformation in all its many forms. 3. This beautiful collection of Chinese recipes, woven perfectly with history and legend. I'm determined to learn how to cook Chinese food properly so I don't constantly find myself taking the train down to Boston's China Town. This book is a great start on my journey.

THE BEST DAMN POTTERY AROUND

I have been collecting the beautiful pottery of Colleen Hennessey for more years than I can count. I discovered them through my lovely pal Heidi Swanson and year after year, I've added to my collection. In fact, a set of her nesting spouted bowls (gasp) arrived this week. If you're looking to support a woman-owned business that infuses every piece with love, I cannot recommend CH enough. Their pottery is handmade in Mendocino County, is tough as nails (and believe me, I am an avid cook and hard on my cookware) and every piece is such an absolute pleasure to use. Not an ad - I just love these ladies and the joy their beautiful wares brings to my days.
